Smartpoint Desktop – Register for a MyTravelport Account
Overview
To modernize the way our customers access Travelport’s platform, Travelport is introducing new security and authentication protocols. These protocols will provide an additional layer of protection for both Travelport and our agents, developers, suppliers, and other users to help prevent misuse of accounts and fraudulent activity.
As part of this initiative, all Travelport+ (1G) system users will be required to have an active MyTravelport account to access future versions of Smartpoint Desktop. If you are currently using Smartpoint Desktop v10.1 or later, and do not have a MyTravelport account, you will be requested to create an account when signing on to Smartpoint Desktop.
The MyTravelport account prompt will begin to display between August 18 and August 31, 2025.
Customer Benefit
In addition to improving security, a MyTravelport account provides Smartpoint Desktop users with access to Travelport’s customer self-service portal, which is a gateway to a range of products, services, and support, including:
Simplified credential management and self-recovery, including automated reset for passwords and Client IDs (SSL Thumbprints).
Chat and online help.
Training and product knowledge resources.
Easy administration for user profiles.
Faster support with self-service features.
In the future, a single MyTravelport sign on will also unlock the full range of Travelport benefits without additional sign ons, and will extend to seamless functionality improvements for future Smartpoint versions.
Detail and Customer Examples
When you sign on to Smartpoint Desktop, a MyTravelport account prompt will display. The date when the prompt begins to display will vary, but will occur between August 18 to August 31, 2025.
Using this prompt, you will:
Confirm an existing MyTravelport email address.
If needed, register for a MyTravelport account.
Confirm Your MyTravelport Email Address
To confirm your MyTravelport account during a Smartpoint Desktop sign on:
Sign on to Smartpoint Desktop, using either the sign on dialog box or terminal formats.
The system detects if an email address is associated to your Travelport+ host sign on. If there is no email associated with the host sign on, the Add Email Address to Sign On dialog box is displayed.
Enter the email address associated to your Smartpoint Desktop host account, then click OK. This address should be the same address that is used for your MyTravelport account.
If your host address and your MyTravelport address are the same, this dialog box closes, and your email confirmation is complete.
If you do not provide an email address or enter a host email address that does not match the address in your MyTravelport account, a pop-up window is displayed.
Note: If you close the dialog box without completing the email fields, the box redisplays 24 hours later, and once a day thereafter, until the email confirmation is completed.
In Enter work email address, enter a unique email address. This email address must be:
A work address only. Please do not use a personal email address.
Unique to each individual. Do not use a general company or department email address.
In Confirm work email address, re-enter the email address.
Click Continue.
If this email address is already registered in MyTravelport, your host email address is updated to match this address, and a confirmation message is displayed.
If this email address is not registered in MyTravelport, the registration page is displayed. See the following section for instructions to complete your registration.
Create a MyTravelport Account
The Create MyTravelport account window displays automatically if you do not have a MyTravelport account associated to your host email address. The email address that you entered in the previous section is automatically displayed.
Enter your name in First name and Last name.
Click the Organization type arrow to select from Travel Agency, Developer, Airline, Hotel, or Car.
Note: Some registrations may also request you to enter the PCC, CIDB, or supplier code for your organization.
Click Continue to display the confirmation screen.
Tip! If the Smartpoint session expires during the registration process, an error message is displayed. Because the Create MyTravelport account pop-up window is displayed once every 24 hours, you will need to wait until the next day to complete the account registration.
After your registration is completed:
The email address associated with your Travelport+ (1G) host sign on is updated to match the email address used to sign on to your MyTravelport account.
You will receive a confirmation email.
After Travelport approves your new MyTravelport account, you will receive another email with additional instructions for completing the registration process and creating a new password.
